THE WOODEN TRUNK
Vincenzo Peruggia kept the Mona Lisa in the bottom of a wooden trunk he built. Because it had a false bottom he was able to bring the painting to Florence unnoticed by custom officials. Last Sunday, my son Justin and I built a replica of the trunk. The full scene will be in the film but here's a time lapse of the construction. The trunk is a lot bigger than I thought.
